This course provides the foundation for pro-fessional nursing practice by introducing learners to the history, theory, concepts, and processes essential to the development of pro-fessional behaviors. Selected philosophies and theories of nursing are introduced and dis-cussed. Socialization into the professional role is studied and selected psychosocial concepts are discussed within a self-care framework.
