This course raises essential historical, philo-sophical, sociological and legal questions about the nature of political terrorism and political violence enacted against civilian pop-ulations by state and non-state agents. Stu-dents will study essential readings in the histo-ry of terrorism and consider media accounts of terrorism from multiple perspectives. (every fall, or as needed) Prerequisite: SOC 101
