4 Credits Prerequisite: EDU2001, EDU2002 and Admissions to the Education Department This course prepares the prospective English teacher to become familiar with the interrelated areas that comprise English instruction. In addition to instructional strategies, students becomes acquainted with the current research relating to the teaching of writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Students learn to plan lessons which include collaborative learning, interactive approaches to literature, and using writing to learn. Case studies serve as a basis for students to actively consider the educational dilemmas that face today's English teachers.
