CHE 06474 - Fundamentals of Particle Technology

Institution:
Rowan University
Subject:
Description:
Prerequisites: CHEM 06100 or CHEM 06105 This course introduces students to the chemical engineering functions of particle technology. Students analyze and design chemical industry processes involving particles. The basic chemistry of particle synthesis and manufacturing is presented. Principles of mass and heat transfer, fluid flow and chemical reaction kinetics are used to analyze a wide range of industrial processes involving particles. Processes involving fluidization, pneumatic conveying, multi-phase mixing and catalysis will be discussed. Laboratory experiments and demonstrations will be integrated throughout the course.
