Prerequisites: ECED 1270 This course is designed to heighten students' awareness of the roles family and community have on a child's success in school. Students will develop the understanding that all children must be seen in the context of their community environment, including their families, schools, communities, and the wider society. Students will be challenged to grasp the complex web of relationships and influences that comprise the child's worldview and to develop skills in working effectively with all elements of that web in order to provide positive educational outcomes for the child. This course will include frequent field visits. Course offered in the Spring.
