Description:

The class endeavors to initiate a process wherein students establish definitions and goals of self-growth, and the capacity to realize them. The core concept (derived from Zen) is that of mindfulness. A major means utilized to attain these ends is zazen, i.e., sitting zen. We will integrate this practice with study of diverse texts, in class exercises, and an off-campus project. The course is designed to be a "hands on" practical learning experience. 0.000 TO 4.000 Credit Hours 0.000 TO 4.000 Lecture hours Levels: Undergraduate Schedule Types: Lecture Amer and Int'l Studies College Interdisciplinary Studies Department Course Attributes: GE-TOPICS ARTS AND HUMANITIES
