Newswriting introduces students to the fundamentals of reporting and writing. Students will learn the basic tenets of the journalist's craft, including developing news judgment, ethics and understanding what makes a good news or feature story. The course will cover the elements of reporting and writing a basic news story or feature, including pitching a story idea, identifying sources, conducting interviews as well as story construction using AP Style. Students will be required to do field reporting.
