Aerobic exercise can be defined as a variety of activities which create an increased demand for oxygen over an extended period of time. Aerobic exercises train the cardiovascular and respiratory systems to exchange and deliver oxygen quickly and efficiently to every part of the body being exercised. As the heart muscle becomes stronger and more efficient, a larger volume of blood is able to be pumped with each stroke and with fewer strokes, thus facilitating the rapid transport of oxygen to all parts of the body with less stress on the heart. An aerobically fit cardiovascular system will allow an individual to work longer at a more vigorous pace and with quicker recovery. 0.000 TO 1.000 Credit Hours 0.000 TO 1.000 Lecture hours Levels: Undergraduate Schedule Types: Lecture Interdisciplinary Studies College Conditioning Department
