3 credits Teaches all phases of copy editing for news and public relations: marking of copy, building and shaping news stories, following mechanical style, and safeguarding against problems of libel and inaccuracy. Provides comprehensive review of grammar, spelling and punctuation, and intensive practice in writing headlines and captions, editing wire copy, and using computers. Prerequisite: COM-102 or English writing concentration.
