Arts course (A). This course will cover the basic theory and techniques of theatrical costume design. Emphasis will be placed on script and character analysis as they relate to the design of theatrical costumes, period research, and the use of costume in dance. Lecture discussions will be reinforced by hands-on experience and practice in the techniques of flat patterning, rendering and portfolio presentation. Faculty: H.
