Not open to students with credit for CRIM 3150. An examination of classic and contemporary views of white collar crime with particular emphasis on recent efforts to explore the subject. Business, professional, and political crimes will be covered. Particular issues to be treated include: the problem of defining and assessing the extent of white collar crimes; descriptions of the actors in the white collar crime arena; interrelationships among white collar crime, the criminal justice system, and society; and the successes and failures of past and present containment efforts.
