MARS 2202 and CHEM 2110. CHEM 2120 or CHEM 2140 are recommended, but not required. This course covers the chemistry of major, minor and selected trace elements in seawater. Acid-base equilibria, speciation, redox reactions and isotopes in various marine ecosystems are discussed. Selected topics include seawater alkalinity-carbonate system, biolimiting elements, chemistry of marine sediments and isotope geochemistry. Faculty: G.
