Review current educational theory on the teaching of reading and writing, drawing connections to the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards for reading and writing. Review case studies of reading and writing pedagogy. Formulate an integrated class exercise of their own design, referring to current scholarship and the appropriate Core Curriculum standards. Develop an integrated curricula for reading and writing, age appropriate to their teaching interests.
