Open only to freshmen and sophomores. An introductory experience designed for students who are interested in exploring social needs, social problems and society's organized response to basic human needs. The course will examine socio-historical conditions which led to the emergence of social welfare institutions and the profession of social work and introduce the concepts of generalist social work practice.
