Looks at the changing construction of gender, feminist definitions of 'appropriate' gender behavior, the place of sex and violence in women's resistance, and the use by women of capitalist and male-created culture. Includes: an Eve Dallas novel, "Witchblade", "Xena", "La Femme Nikita", "Alias", "Wonder Woman", "She-Hulk", "Alien", "Basic Instinct", a Pam Grier movie, a Chinese martial arts film, and "Blue Steel".
