This course provides an introduction to evidence-based nursing practice and research. Students will focus on the critical-thinking skills required to identify and appraise the best evidence available to support nursing practice. Emphasis is placed on the components of the research process and the professional nurse's role in application of research as well as subsequent improvement in healthcare. Prerequisite: A course equivalent to HPS-200: Statistics for the Health Professions or STA-201: Principles of Statistics.
