An introduction to electronic music with hands-on experience in the basics of subtractive, FM, and digital synthesis. Emphasis placed on MIDI and computer applications. No prior experience on synthesizer necessary. Most assignments and projects are to be completed during required lab time. Ability to read music required. Placement test is given at first class meeting. Prerequisite: MUS 158
