This course examines various philosophies within the Buddhist tradition, such as the atomists, the idealists, and the schools that claim that ultimate reality is beyond the scope of words. The role of meditation and morality in relation to these schools is also discussed. The course introduces students to Buddhist philosophy as it evolved in India, China, Korea, Japan, and Tibet.
