The course will cover the nature of language disorders in children from birth through adolescence. General behavioral and linguistic characteristics associated with etiological categories including autism, metal retardation, hearing impairment, language learning disorders, and specific language impairment will be discussed. Two standardized assessment instruments as well as informal assessment procedures will be described. A variety of intervention strategies will be presented. Prerequisite: CODS 372
