Prerequisite: MGMT 200Examination of theory, research, and application of leadership inorganizational settings. This course helps students to acquire the skills,and an understanding of the background of the skills, that are themost effective in succeeding in leadership situations. The course istaught with a concerted effort to separate the leadership research fromleadership opinion in the popular press. Class time is spent reviewingleadership research and how it can be applied in leadership situations,and gaining a better understanding of the many maxims on leadershipin the popular press. Class discussions, role-playing, current newspaperarticles, exercises, and a team project are used to convey the material.
