Topics covered include the mechanism bywhich interest rates are determined; the money supply process andthe determinants of money demand; banking regulations and financialinnovations; and the effect of financial market disturbances on theeconomy. The structure and policies of the U.S. Federal Reserve willbe compared to other major central banks, including the EuropeanCentral Bank.
