Architecture ElectivePrerequisite: ARCH 325, junior standingDutch architecture of the 20th century provides a unique groundingfor the study of modern architecture's ideas, development andbuildings. Dutch architecture of the last century may be seenas a laboratory for the examination of a contemporary society'senvironment and social advancement. Topics will explore and examinethe thematic evolution of 20th century architectural ideals in Hollandas expressed by significant architects' writings and buildings. A lectureseminarformat promotes the idea that themes of the past centurycontinue to be advanced in contemporary Dutch architectural theoryand practice.
