Emphasizes common challenges that variousspecies face. The mechanisms responsible for behavior, includingsensory receptors, filters, neurobiology and the endocrine system arediscussed. The development of behavior, as well as behavior geneticsand evolution are examined. Students then focus on communicationand adaptations for survival, and social organization in animalgroups. Students present the results of a literature search.
