Prerequisites: ANTH 260 ( C- or higher ) and SOC 260; ( C- or higher); Opento Anthropology + Sociology majors; senior standing or consent of instructorAn overview of anthropological and sociological research methods.Provides an introduction to research design beginning with theconcepts and principles of social research. Includes instruction in thedevelopment of research questions, sampling, measurement validityand reliability, hypothesis testing, and data collection and analysiswith an emphasis on ethnographic techniques. Students will engage infieldwork as part of the requirements for this class.
