Architecture ElectivePrerequisite: Junior standingThrough a variety of study and documentation techniques, studentsexamine the architecture and urbanism of the Study Abroad settingas important cultural manifestations of a people and their history.Readings and lectures by University and local faculty providehistorical or theoretical background for students' on-site observations. The current practice of architecture will likewise be illuminated byvisits with local practitioners and tours of their work. Through anappreciation of the range of issues, which can influence architecturaland urban form in the study abroad setting, it is hoped that studentswill be able to reflect more objectively on their own culture,environment and creative processes.
