This course explores the formal and theoretical nature of the elements of art and design. Visual vocabulary common to both two and three dimensional form as well as issues of style and content are presented. Studio sessions with extensive analytical critiques are held regularly. Emphasis is placed upon exploring practical ways to interpret and utilize current concepts in contemporary art and design. This course is a prerequisite for senior studio. Prerequisite: Junior Art major. 3 credits.
