Offered on demand. This course builds on the knowledge acquired in both the safety hazard and health hazard courses to provide students with greater mastery of hazard evaluation and control methods. (Students are encouraged to complete the health hazard and safety hazard courses before taking Industrial Hygiene.) It will provide practical, hands-on training in evaluating potential work site hazards. Students will learn about environmental monitoring methods such as air sampling and become familiar with commonly used equipment. They will also learn to interpret and evaluate monitoring data provided by professional testers. Prerequisite: 1 unit academic math.
