3 credits Prerequisite: COP 2340. This course is designed to teach students the skills they need to effectively administer Linux servers. Students will plan, install, and perform support tasks related to their individual Linux server. Students will configure basic network protocols and share resources with other students in the class. Major topics covered include files, processes, documentation, startup and shutdown procedures, user accounts, security, software administration, and performance tuning. 47 contact hours.
