Introduction to the nature of life. Fundamentals of structure and function are examined through processes such as photosynthesis, digestion, respiration, circulation, coordination, adaptation, reproduction, heredity, interactions with the environment and variation through time. Observation and experimentation and societal consequences are emphasized. (3 hr. lec./3 hr. lab.) Prerequisite: Open to any student who qualifies for the Biology Major Honors Program.
