This course is designed to provide the student with the opportunity to gain practical work experience in a responsible position in a private business, a non-profit agency or a government service in which their knowledge of America's culture and identity can be applied and enhanced. In addition to their work assignment students are expected to do a paper that describes the knowledge gained in their experience in relation to the American Studies program. The internship is open to junior and senior American Studies majors with the permission of the program coordinator. 3 credits.
