A course which provides students with a broad background of chemistry. Fundamental topics and theories of chemistry are discussed, including a short introduction to organic chemistry. Applications of the theories and laws of chemistry to life processes are empha-sized. Basic problem solving is included. Two lectures and one 2 ? hour laboratory session weekly.
