Prerequisites: DESN 09349 or ART 09349 In this intermediate studio design course students will learn the art and craft of packaging design. Working from project briefs, students will design and produce projects throughout the semester covering a broad range of packaging techniques. Key course concepts will include seeing and designing in three demensions, mass vs prestige design, designing for target markets, playful design, product lines, and new product launches. Portfolio-quality projects will range from retail shopping bags to braded beverage bottles.
