Prerequisite: Two FRE 200-level courses or one FRE 200-level course, and one FRE 300-level course, or permission of instructor This course's main focus is on the literary movement of the Maghreb from the late colonization period to present. Students will master a general knowledge of North African history, society, and culture and become acquainted with major authors, themes, and cultural as well as political movements of the Maghreb. Questions of transculturalism, displacement, language, and gender will be thoroughly studied.
