CHE 400 - Chemical Bonding

Institution:
Rider University
Subject:
Description:
3 credits The effects of the chemical bond on the structure and properties of molecules are investigated. Molecular orbital theories of bonding are introduced. Emphasis is placed on group theoretical methods utilizing molecular symmetry to simplify the description of the electronic structure of molecules and to predict their geometric structures and reactivity. Three hours of lecture per week. Prerequisites: CHE-306, MTH-212. Spring.
