Prerequisite: VARTS 281Fulfills a course requirement in the Visual Arts Studies: Painting/Drawing/Printmaking Core ConcentrationThis course builds on the theories and methods introduced in theFoundation of Painting course using oil-based materials. This coursedevelops a student's knowledge of the uses of color, including itspsychological and expressive properties. Requires solution of morecomplex compositional and spatial problems. All aspects of making a painting from stretching a canvas to understanding the use of oilmediums will be investigated.
