This course is designed to examine the use of technology in the delivery of nursing care and how it impacts patient care and efficiency. The automation of data management through information systems, expert systems and telecommunications and the impact of these technologies on nursing practice and research are addressed in the context of health care informatics. Actual problem solving on how computerization can improve the efficiency of nursing care delivery at the bedside will be emphasized.
