LANG 2241 with a grade of C or better or equivalent. (Formerly titled Advanced Spanish.) Permission of Instructor required. International/multicultural course (I). Advanced compositions and discussions based on a variety of readings of contemporary interest. Grammatical competence is assumed, and the ability to carry on conversations on various topics at the advanced level is expected. There will be two textbooks: 1) an anthology of socio-political and cultural readings by Latin American authors, and 2) an advanced Spanish book which includes journalistic articles and short fictional works by Spanish and Latin American writers.
