This interdisciplinary course integrates topics related to art history, cultural studies and studio practice. The class surveys experimental typography methods employed by artists, designers, poets, and media artists. The course introduces students to the history of experimental typography in the 20th century through course lectures and museum visits. Students are introduced to the history of technology, art, design literacy and poetry through readings, critical writing, and digital art assignments. Prerequisite: ART 110 Two Dimensional Design
