Prereq: MATH 113 OR EQUIV OR MATH PLACEMENT LEVEL 2 OR HIGHER. Algorithms, programs, and computers. Basic programming and program structure. Programming and computing systems. Debugging and verification of programs. Data representation. Organization and characteristics of computers. Computer solution of several numerical and nonnumerical problems using one or more programming languages. Course does not apply to Arts and Sciences natural science requirement. FORTRAN taught. May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
