Prereq: C S 120 OR MIS 101. A general introduction to logic programming using the language Prolog. Begins with an orientation on the PC system and the programming environment for Prolog. Subsequently emphasizes rule-based programming and the relationship between rules, queries, goals, and facts. The programming assignments will emphasize problem solving which requires deduction and the use of the built-in inference engine. May be retaken three times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
