Prereq: MATH 113 OR PLACEMENT LEVEL 2 OR 263A OR 163A. A first course for students with no programming background who intend to continue with more advanced programming classes. Basic programming and programming structure, computer organization, data representation, control structures, manipulation of strings, arrays, structures, and pointers. Computer solutions to a variety of problems using the C programming language. Debugging and verification techniques. May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
