Prereq: (CH E OR LIFE SCIENCE MAJOR) & SR ONLY. Basic techniques, such as cell disruption, centrifugation, precipitation, micro- and ultrafiltration, various forms of chromatography for the separations of biomolecules, especially proteins, will be introduced. Some emphasis will be placed on preparative and large scale applications. 3 lec. May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
