This course explores the period of history from the earliest beginnings to 1877. It investigates African empires and civilizations through the development of the Atlantic slave trade and continuing to the new world to deal with the American Colonial period, The Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and finishing with the end of Reconstruction in 1877.
