An introduction to the concept of service learning and the philosophy and principles that serve as its foundation. It provides students with the opportunity to participate in service learning and to integrate this experience with personal and societal values surrounding important issues and problems in American society. The student is expected to complete a service learning project during the semester at a designated agency. This course meets the Area B institutional options requirement.
