Revisits the history, anatomy, classification, construction and use of type discussed in Art 287, but with greater emphasis on theory. Going beyond the foundation set in Typography, Advanced Typography will consider the emotional, expressive, and connotative aspects of letterforms and their organization. Students will also explore new ways of creating letterforms using different media. Possible applications could include environmental signage, sculptural installations and/or film.
