3 credits Italian I is an introductory course that emphasizes the basic skills of read ing, writing, and speaking Italian, as well as some translation. Since global demand is great for competencies in written and spoken languages, Italian I offers students, especially those in the culinary arts, the opportunity to learn, understand, and use Italian while at the same time, reinforcing their English competencies.
