3 credits This course examines the application of relevant U.S. and State Constitutional requirements and restrictions on the investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses. Major topics include the laws of arrest, the rules of search and seizure, the use of force, and interrogation practices. Attention will be paid to various aspects of the investigation and judicial process, the concept of due process, and to rights afforded to the accused. PREREQUISITE: CJ-200
