3 credits This course is an introduction to the theories, principles, and practices of disaster management with emphases on the roles and functions of key governmental agencies at the state, local and federal levels in natural and unnatural disasters. Topics will include emergency planning and preparedness, mitigation, disaster management in the private sector, response and recovery, and interagency cooperation.
