Prerequisite: ENG 113 or ENG 114 (C or better) Corequisite: None This course provides a survey of the development of African-American literature from its beginnings to the present. Emphasis is placed on historical and cultural context, themes, literary traditions, and backgrounds of the authors. Upon completion, students should be able to interpret, analyze, and respond to selected texts. This course has been designated as writing-intensive. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for tranferability as a premajor and/or elective course requirement. This course is also available through the Virtual Learning Community (VLC). (On Demand)
