Introduces students to the assessment and treatment of various family systems. This course is a continuation of the ecological perspective of systems theory and social work practice illustrated in Human Behavior and the Social Environment and Social Work Practice Techniques I. Ethnic, culture, and gender issues are included as they apply to families. Family violence, substance abuse, adolescence conflict, and marital discord are among the topics discussed in this course.
